Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This restaurant/bar is located in a small alley with a view of a church. Indoor seating is limited and very tight. They also have outdoor seatings but it’s very hot during my visit. I was very glad that I was able to grab a table before they got busier. It’s very cool that you can see the cook making food in front of you. Price was reasonable with good portion. Must order item is the Frittura mista Maxi ( big fried mix seafood - shrimp, calamari, anchovy, octopus). It’s delicious. I also got the Tartaruga Polpo panini ( fried octopus seasoned with oil, salt and lemon) and tonno poke (tuna poke) but they weren’t as good as I expected. I do not recommend the Campari soda- it was very bitter. I prefer the Aperol which is much sweeter. Overall, I’d recommend this place for a quick bite/ drink when visiting Monopoli."
"<ö+ TasteMarked Reviews +ø> Fried. Quick bites. Outdoor Seating. We were having difficulty on looking for a place to eat here as we came in on an odd timing. The sweet spot were most of the restaurants closest to for a break before serving dinner. We arrived at Monopoli around 2:50PM, and most of the restaurants we wanted to try were closing at 3pm or 3:30pm. Lucky we stumble upon this restaurant specializes on panini/fried finger food. Their menu is simple, which I like as when there’s too many items on the menu I get confused on what to order. This shop brings you back to basics, just a simple salt and pepper o. your meats, salad dressing is olive oil and vinaigrette. We ordered the ff: 1. Panini - Octopus : this is very basic just octopus cooked in salt and pepper. No dressing/ No veggies inside the panini. It’s a bit too simple but the meat was generous. However it was a bit tough. 2. Panini - Chicken : the chicken was coated in breading. 3. Tuna Salad - The tuna have some fishy smell but the veggies are all so nice. Very fresh. Environment: 5/5 Waiting: 5/5 Taste: 3.5/5 Price: 4/5 Service: 5/5 What I liked: - octopus What I disliked: - tuna"
"Excellent mixed seafood and octopus sandwich. Very good drinks and local wine menu. Nice polite service and prices as expected for Puglia in the season. Thoroughly enjoyable. A second visit in the evening was less enjoyable due to the cursory service from an unfriendly waiter and the Hugo spritz was less than exceptional."
"Stopped here for a quick snack with drinks. Nice outdoor seating and delicious fried squid. Prices are okay, food and drinks were good! They forgot out order but made sure we got it quickly after reminding them. The staff was very friendly!"
"Amazing Panini Polpo. The octopus was excellent. Highly recommend it if you love octopus. The service was great as well."
"Cozy place to grab some sea food and drinks! It's located right next to the main city beach, has seating outside, with cool tables that have special holes for holding the cones with sea food I ordered the mix of seafood, everything was delicious and well prepared. Reasonable prices."
"Stopped here after a wander around the town of Monopoli staff were very polite and kind. The calamari and gambretti were both a nice snack with a Spritz. Good place for a quick bit and drink. Easy to pay on card inside just need table number."
"Fresh seafood with a good seasoning. I could really just eat here everyday. House wine is also good. Everything was amazing, the only minus point from me is that it's a bit pricey. Mixed fried seafood (medium size) + a glass of wine was 20 euros"
